DETAILS
Two beginner courses have been scheduled for 2023, the dates and times are detailed below.
The course remains at £60 and consists of 6 sessions each building on the previous lesson so it is important that you can commit to all the sessions and is run outdoors rain or shine.
Parents or Guardians of children (Juniors) under the age of 18 are expected to remain with the child during these sessions.
Please be aware that demand for these courses has outstripped availability.
Course 01 (18 places):
Course Dates: Weds – 29 Mar, 05 Apr, 19 Apr, 26 Apr, 03 May & 10 May 2023
Start Times: Week 1; 5:30pm, Weeks 2 to 6; 6:00pm, Finish Time: Weeks 1 to 6; 8:00pm.
Course 02 (15 places):
Course Dates: Weds – 24th May, 31st May, 7th Jun, 14h Jun, 21st Jun & 28th Jun 2023
Start Times: Week 1; 5:30pm, Weeks 2 to 6; 6:00pm, Finish Time: Weeks 1 to 6; 8:00pm.
The course list will open at 0900 am on Mon 06 Feb 23 for a maximum of 10 days or until all available places are filled.
Places will be allocated on a first come basis dependent upon club resources and then confirmed once full payment has been paid within 7 days of allocation.

Course Details
Our beginners courses cover the following:
- Introduction and welcome to the club.
- Safety Rules & etiquette.
- Fitting out each person with suitable equipment.
- Warm up and cool down procedure.
- Basic shooting technique
- Practice shooting at a bare target, initially from approximately ten yards, but at progressively longer distances as the course progresses.
- A little about equipment.
- Different aspects of archery & types of bow.
- Introduction to scoring and methods.
- How to aim with and without a sight.
- Selecting equipment & costs.
- Reinforcing shooting technique, etiquette, safety and scoring.
- Details of joining the Club.
- Shooting rounds.
- Entering tournaments & clothing.
- Discuss equipment needs with those wishing to join the club.
